Production meetings and production log

Within our production we kept a log of dates that showed the different tasks completed. You will be able to see the completed work for our production alongside the date and what we did during this day. Below from this point will include the different activities taken for the planning and production of our Single Camera Production.

Thursday 15th of November (All attended)

We discussed as a group what we wanted to include in our 5 minute film. We produced a mind map of ideas and a structure for the video. We then produced a questionnaire to produce primary research. We also wanted to gain some secondary research so that we could get a clearer idea on which idea would be the best. This helped us pick our final idea.

Thursday 22nd November 2012 (All attended)

As a group we sat together and produced the synopsis for our film. The reason why we produced the synopsis was so that we would have a better understanding of the story and what we wanted to include and also the mise-en-scene. We then produced a treatment, mood board and storyboard; we split these activities within the group on the 26th November.

Monday 26th of November (All attended)

We produced a shooting schedule as a group, we set out the dates for the filming, and we did this by finding out when we all are available. We shared out the roles within our group, this helped us to spread out the workload and get all work done quickly and efficiently. We also were able to know what each member of the group was going to participate towards the production.

Thursday 29th November 2012  (All attended)

On this date, our focus was the production of the film. We looked and thought about the locations we wanted to use for our film; below you can see the locations we have chosen and explanation as to why we have chosen those locations. We also auditioned possible actors/actresses for our film. Below you can see a range of individuals we auditioned for the characters we needed. You can see how we narrowed them down by looking at their suitability for the character role. We then moved on to props we would like to use in our film. We produced a risk assessment document and a shooting script to prepare for the filming process and help us keep everything organised. Finally, we made a script for our film.

Thursday 6th of December (All attended)

We started filming and discussed the shots we needed to film. We broke down our film into scenes and decided the locations for each of the scenes. We looked at the shots taken and looked for ways in which we can improve for the next stage of filming. By reviewing the shots, we were able to see what our strengths were and what we needed to work on more.

Monday 17th of December (All attended)

We finished filming and our main priority was to plan out our editing process. We knew that the editing process would take a long time if we all did it together. So, we split the different shots between the group so that we can edit them quickly. We gave the more challenging editing sections to the members of the group who had more knowledge of how to use the software. The rest of the group took on more easier editing roles.
